Spam Control

    Accessing Email Held As Spam
  1. In webmail, click on the held folder.
  2. Click the "held messages". Any "held" email not delivered to your inbox will be held here. If you do not see messages on this page after clicking the held message button then there are no message held on the server.
  3. Put a check next to the email(s) and select which action to perform.
  4. Release - will deliver message to your inbox
    Delete - will delete the message
    Allow - will deliver message to your inbox and all future messages from the same person. This person will then be added as a friend.
    IsSpam - will mark this and all future email from this person as spam.
    Changing The Spam Settings (held & deleted messages)
  1. In webmail, click on the held folder.
  2. Click the "Settings" button.
  3. You should see 3 drop down menus. Select a spam level with lower numbers restricting more email and higher numbers allowing more email.
    For example 1= most blocked (maybe spam), 10 = least blocked (only definate spam)

  4. Hold - will keep your blocked messages on the server for two weeks, where can retrieve them
    Bounce / Reject - will send a bounce notification to the sender that their email was blocked.
    Vanish - will delete the email from the server entirely, be careful as there is no way to recovered deleted messages.
  5. After making your changes, click save. Changes will take effect immediately for all future incoming messages.
    Enabling Friends and Kid Safe Email
  1. In webmail, click on "Options".
  2. Go to "Spam and Filtering" and click on "Friends Settings".
  3. Select one of the settings below and "Save".
    Friends Disabled - default setting if you want additional spam protection
    Kids Safe - will only deliver emails listed on the "Email List". All other email will be held as spam.
    Track - will keep track of email addresses but will not block any spam
    Confirmation - required confirmation from the sender to make sure a real person is sending the message and not a spammer.

Importing / Exporting Address Books

Step 1: Export Address Books from Mail Client

    Exporting from Outlook / Outlook Express
  1. In Outlook, click "File" in the main menu. Select "Export" and then "Address Book".
  2. Next select the file type you would like to export and click the "Export" button.
  3. Enter a name and save the file on your computer.
  4. Go to Step 2.
    Exporting from Eudora
  1. The file you need to import is called 'NNdbase.txt' and it should be the the location where Eudora was installed.
  2. Go to "My Computer" and click on the "C" drive (or the approriate drive if different).
  3. Locate "Program Files" and find the "Eudora" directory.
  4. Go to Step 2.
    Exporting from Netscape
  1. You need to click Communicator, Address Book, File, Export
  2. Change the Save in: to "Desktop"
  3. Change the File name: to "pab"
  4. Change the Save as type: to "Comma Separated (*.csv for Netscape 6 and earlier)" or Save as (*.ldif or *.ldi for Netscape 7 or later). Then Click Save.
  5. Go to Step 2.

Step 2: Importing Address Books Into Webmail

  1. In webmail, browse for the file you exported.
  2. Select the approriate "Filetype".
  3. Enter a name for "Address Book to Import" and selected "Do Import".
