Routers that Support Network Magic™ Remote Access Feature
Remote Access is an optional feature of Network Magic™ that lets you access
files on your home network from anywhere using just an Internet browser. You can also share files on your home
network with family and friends.
The host computer is the computer where you set up your Remote Access Web site address. Network
Magic™ allows you to set up one host computer in your network. Requirements for the Remote Access host
computer:
- UPnP supported router or one of the routers listed below. While you can use most of Network Magic's
features with any router, Remote Access requires a router that fully supports UPnP (the majority of new
routers do) or one of the routers listed below which fully support Remote Access.
- Operating system. Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Professional Edition with Service Pack 1
(SP1) or later (SP2 recommended). You can get the service packs at
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
- Port 8008 must be available.
