Network Magic™ Internet Montior
Get a Daily Email Report with Sites Visited.
It's
11:34 PM. Do you know if your kid is surfing the Internet? And if they are, what are they viewing?
Parents today have a whole new challenge – how to best supervise their kids' Internet use.
New in Network Magic™ 4.1 is our Network Reports feature – which sends you a daily email, for each
computer in your home, showing Web sites visited, specific times a computer was used to surf the
Internet, and the software applications used by your computers. Now you can easily tell if Junior was
using the Internet at 1 a.m. instead of sleeping, or if your daughter was on MySpace.com for 5 hours
yesterday. The Network Report is a great way to monitor kids' computer and Internet activity,
especially if you can't be there all the time to see what they are up to!
Network Magic™ Makes Monitoring Kids' Internet and Computer Use Easy.
You decide which computers to monitor.
Network Reports sends a daily email report for each computer telling you:
- Specific times the Internet was used
- Web sites visited
- Software applications used and for how long
What Information Does Network Reports Provide You With?
Network Traffic: Your daily email report includes a graph of the Network Traffic for a computer
during the previous day. What this graph tells you is how often that computer was accessing your home
network. This could mean time spent on the Internet (which is most likely the case), time spent
accessing a shared file from another computer or time spent printing a document to a shared printer.
The bars on the graph aren't exact numbers but rather are rounded up or down to give the overall picture
of the traffic generated by the computer.
Software Application Usage: The Application Usage list shows every software program that was used on a
computer during the previous day. It also shows how long each program was running. This is a great way to
see if homework is getting done, or if computer games or instant messaging are being used instead.
Web Sites Visited: The Internet Explorer Browser History list shows the Web sites visited by the
computer during the previous day, helping you understand where your kids are hanging out on the Internet.
Are they on MySpace or are they on CNN, this list will let you know.
How can I use this information?
When you pair the Application Usage list with the Internet Explorer Browser history, you can see what Web
sites a computer (or more importantly your kids) visited and how long the Web browser was used (did they
spend 10 minutes on myspace or 5 hours). Add the Network Traffic report into the mix and you can see when
your kids were accessing the Internet the most; during the day, or in the middle of the night.
